DSOstop2 prevents the DSO Exploit security issue in all versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer.

DSOstop2 software will permit you to protect yourself without the need to pay a "resident geek" to fix Microsoft's problem for you. Simply run the program and it will check your registry to see if the existing settings are unsafe. If so, you will be advised to click the button on the next screen marked "Protect Internet Explorer". If you do so, then DSOstop will change the registry settings for you automatically and then you'll be protected from this exploit.
If you choose "UNprotect internet Explorer" instead, those changes will be removed. Selecting this option will restore your PRIOR settings should Microsoft provide a patch and operation of "RUN Unsigned ActiveX controls" should "diminish your Internet eXPerience" as Microsoft calls it.
If Microsoft actually FIXES this problem, AND if you wish to allow UNSIGNED ACTIVEX CONTROLS to run on your machine (why?) then you can use this program to turn this capability back ON by clicking on the UNprotect button any time you wish.
If at this point, you have used and deleted this program, you can always download it again and run it to UNprotect yourself from this exploit. The program was designed to allow you to PROTECT or UNPROTECT against this situation, depending on your whim. Any changes made to the UNSIGNED ACTIVEX selection can be completely undone by UNprotect selection on the program panel. If you used the original DSOSTOP release and want to release the "Internet Zone" to "allow" as well, be sure the checkbox is checked since by design, the checkbox is an interlock for both "protect" and "unprotect" operation in Zone 3 (Internet Zone).
