Unlocker is a very useful software designed to delete files being in used and locked by operating system.

It simply adds a context-menu entry and you can perform everything from there.

If you ever encountered one of the following messages you may need this little utility: Cannot delete file: Access is denied. There has been a sharing violation.

The source or destination file may be in use. The file is in use by another program or user. Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use.

You can unlock any file without reboot and perform some actions: Delete, Rename and Move. Unlocker takes any step in order to make this happen: kills process involved, unload DLL, delete index.dat.

It’s a free and very helpful program working in both 32 and 64 bit OS.
